Germany’s Michael Freund is a twelve-time German national champion and FIVE-time world champion in the sport of four-in-hand driving. He was on the world championship gold-medal team four times (in 1992, 1994, 2000, and 2006). In the relatively new sport of World Cup driving, Michael finished the year in first place in 2001/02, 2002/03, 2003/04, and 2004/05 (he was tied that year with Holland’s Ysbrand Chardon). He (Michael) won the 2007 World Cup Final and was the winner of the FEI Top Driver Award in both 2001 and 2004.

Michael Freund’s active career ended in 2006. Ever since, he has been passing on his knowledge and experience as a coach for world-class drivers such as the Americans Chester Weber and Tucker Johnson. With his sponsorship, they have won various international tournaments worldwide as well as four medals at world championships. FROM 2010 - 2016, Michael Freund was responsible for the entire US driving sports scene as a coach for national teams of all types of harnesses.
